Classic Double Flap Small Lambskin Leather Bag

A Chanel Classic Flap Bag in supple lambskin leather. The Flap Bag has a storied history: it was first debuted by Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel in the ’50s and then later re-envisioned by Karl Lagerfeld in the ’80s. In 2005, Lagerfeld rereleased Coco’s original 2.55 design as the Reissue (2.55 refers to the month and year—February 1955—of Coco’s original design).

The Flap Bag comes in many different styles. The most common materials are calfskin, lambskin and caviar, though it is available in more exotic leathers such as lizard and ostrich. The most common sizes are Mini, Small, Medium, Jumbo and Maxi. Lagerfeld’s design—to which this particular bag belongs—features a leather-woven chain strap and the always-popular Double-C turnlock closure, while Coco’s design has a chain (sans leather) strap and the iconic Mademoiselle lock.

Condition:Good

Overall: The exterior leather shows signs of wear and aging, such as light scratches, scuff marks, and areas where the leather has faded slightly. Inside, the leather shows signs of light scratching throughout. The hardware has light surface scratches, as well as areas of peeling/fading on the turnlock and stud closures. Overall, this bag has been well-loved, but there is still plenty of life left in it.
